VACUUM PUMP SYSTEMS

DESCRIPTION:  Baron USA vacuum pump packages are perfect for the evacuation of transformers, vacuum chambers and many electrical devices for degasification and dehydration of the device and for filling the device with dielectric liquid under vacuum.  Combination pump/booster systems are available in many pumping speeds with several types of backing pumps available.

SYSTEM SIZING AND SELECTION OPTIONS:

The pumping speed of the vacuum package (and therefore the time required to evacuate to your desired vacuum level) is a function of:

VACUUM BOOSTER: Once the vacuum pump has achieved a low enough pressure, the vacuum booster/roots blower is allowed to start.  This accelerates the pumping speed the rest of the way down to the desired endpoint.  Therefore, the booster pumping speed impacts the total amount of time required to reach the desired endpoint.  Internally bypassed and VFD controlled boosters are available in many sizes to minimize pump down time.

VACUUM PUMP:  The vacuum pump runs alone during initial pump-down of your device – usually until the pressure in the device reaches 50 – 20 Torr (67 – 27 mbar).  Therefore, the pumping speed capability of the vacuum/backing pump has significant impact on the amount of time required for evacuation.

A wide variety of pumping speeds and pump combinations are available for every application.  Let a Baron applications person assist in sizing one for you.

VACUUM PUMP TYPES: Most pump systems are available as air-cooled, though some larger systems are water-cooled.  Backing pump types available include oil sealed rotary vane or rotary piston.  Dry screw pumps are the preferred technology due to their oil-free operation and relatively low maintenance.

PORTABILITY:  Stationary skid-mounted systems are available for vacuum chamber and transformer tank evacuation in manufacturing settings.  Systems are also available with wheels for manufacturing floor portability and trailers for field evacuation during installation or drying.
