MEDICAL IMAGING TUBE AND POWER SUPPLY SYSTEMS

DESCRIPTION:  Oil-filled components for X-ray, CAT scans and other medical applications require the dielectric strength of the oil be as high as possible.  Baron TPS systems are designed to process the electrical insulating fluids for the removal of particulate, moisture, and dissolved gases.  The TPS will also fill the device under vacuum in order to provide the highest dielectric strength oil possible and eliminate bubbles.

SYSTEM PERFORMANCE:  Electrical insulating fluids containing 10% of dissolved gas and 100 PPM total water content shall be degasified and dehydrated to the following specifications in a single pass at the full flow rate of the unit.

Dielectric Breakdown Voltage: Standard Method ASTM D-1816 >= 50 kV and Standard Method ASTM D-877 >= 40 kV

Total Gas Content: Standard Method ASTM D-2945 < 0.25%

Total Water Content: Standard Method ASTM D-15 < 10 PPM

Filtration: 99% of all particles 0.5 microns (using BARON filter element # 50604):

STANDARD FEATURES AND COMPONENTS:

  • Flow Rate:  75, 150, or 300 USgph.

  • Number of fill stations:  This corresponds to the number of devices that typically need to be processed and filled simultaneously.

  • Typical operating temperature:  80-120°F.

  • Typical process vacuum:  5 Torr to less than 0.05 Torr (50 microns).

  • Particulate Filtration:  0.5-micron final filter.

  • Piping:  All steel piping system insures ears of lead-free service.

  • Base:  System is mounted on a reinforced steel base with integral drip pan.

  • Oil Pump:  positive displacement rotary tri-screw circulation pump with enclose fan cooled motor.

  • Relief Valve:  Fulflo (non-pop off type) hydraulic relief valve.

  • Oil Heater:  Trent 16KW aluminum finned tube elements for oil heating.

  • Vacuum System:  Oerlikon Leybold high efficiency air-cooled vacuum pumping system with gas ballast (single or dual).

  • Vacuum Chamber:  Baron 3-stage chamber for the removal of air, water and volatile contaminates.

  • Control System:  Fully programmed digital logic controllers operated from a touch screen graphical interface provide complete system control.

  • Digital Vacuum Gauge:  With scale of 0.001-1000 Torr shall monitor the process vacuum.

  • Fill Bench:  A fill bench with fixtures can be provided to secure the device(s) to be processed.
